BeFlat™ Degassing Jar for Carbonated Beverage Sample Prep

HC08674

The BeFlat™ Degassing Jar is a patented, reusable sample-preparation tool designed to reduce dissolved gas in beer, soda, hard seltzer, cider, sparkling beverages, and other gasified liquids before concentration or downstream analysis.

Carbonated beverages can release CO₂ during sample handling, creating bubbles and foam that may slow or disrupt concentration. BeFlat™ helps prepare these samples for more reliable and efficient CP Select™ processing, supporting faster microbiology workflows that concentrate bacteria and other spoilage organisms from large sample volumes before culture-based or molecular testing.

When paired with CP Select™ Concentration Tips and Wet Foam Elution™, BeFlat™ enables a streamlined carbonated beverage workflow:

           Degas → Concentrate → Elute → Test

Benefits

Prepares carbonated beverages for CP Select™ concentration

Helps reduce bubbles, foam, and CO₂-related flow disruption

Supports beer-spoilage organism and beverage QC workflows

Useful before 0.45 µm or 0.2 µm CPT workflows

Reusable, autoclavable borosilicate glass jar

Supports culture-based or molecular downstream testing workflows

Streamlined Workflow

1 - Degas with BeFlat™
- Pour the carbonated beverage into the BeFlat™ Degassing Jar to release CO₂

2 - Concentrate with CP Select™
- Use the appropriate CPT Concentration Tip based on target and matrix behavior.

3 - Recover with Wet Foam Elution™
- Elute captured organisms into a small concentrate.

4 - Analyze
- Use the concentrate for culture, enrichment, qPCR/dPCR, sequencing, lateral flow, or other validated downstream methods.
