Concentrating Pipette™ used by Delaware PHL to Screen Wastewater for Candida Auris Infections

Delaware Public Health Lab, along with many other state labs, has utilized the Concentrating Pipette to effectively surveil community wastewater and monitor the presence of pathogens. This method has proven to be an excellent tool for tracking the rise and fall of a variety of circulating diseases within communities in near real-time.

This lab was one of the first to validate a method for detecting Candida auris, an emerging global threat with antimicrobial resistance, using the InnovaPrep platform. Their findings were showcased in the poster presentation Wastewater Surveillance for Candida auris Utilizing Digital PCR at the 2023 Association of Public Health Labs meeting. The Concentrating Pipette is recognized by health labs worldwide for its speed, ease of use, and efficiency in tracking numerous pathogenic threats in wastewater.
